Introduction

Mijn Daimler Regency

January 2014

From my website you could have concluded what my Jaguar collection consists of (well, if my website would be as complete as I imagine it). In brief: I started with buying a second car, apart from my Rover 3500 Vanden Plas, that kept serving as a daily driver. I got a very nice Daimler Double Six. After that, I got a Daimler with six cylinder engine, that happen to be an Insignia model. When looking for parts, I came across a dark green Daimler Double Six with an automatic gearbox problem, and I bought it. Although it doesn't drive, I then had three Jaguars XJ40, badged with the luxurious Daimler brand. In December 2013 I came across a nice red Daimler that looked very cheap. I bought it. So I know have four Jaguars XJ40, all of them Daimlers.

My story on the XJ40 web forum

The English webforum xj40.com is dedicated exclusively to the Jaguar model that was produced between 1986 and 1994, also known under its internal name XJ40. On xj40.com, a large group of Jaguar XJ40 enthusiasts, some of which are truly experts, is sharing their enthusiasm and helping each other with problem solving. In this way, we try to keep this Jaguar model in running order as well as possible and within reasonable costs. We definitely want the XJ40 to be saved for the future.

To introduce my recently acquired Daimler, I wrote an extensive story for the 'XJ40 Gallery' on our forum. I also describe the problems I encountered during the first days, willing to solve them in the near future with help of my fellow XJ40 enthusiasts.

On the next pages, you can read my story for the forum, plus some of the comment of other members of the forum. Enjoy! As always: remarks welcome!
