This is page 5 of the illustrated report on the xj40.com meeting in Beaulieu, September 2014

The XJ40s in photos

The XJ40s present in Beaulieu, 18 in total. Mainly some impressions of individual cars, but also some overviews. A list with specifications and owners is on the next page. The DD6 of Florian was on the previous page; I don't have a picture of Chris W.'s XJ12 in solent blue. All 16 other cars are below, although some not with a frontal photo.

Roel's Sovereign 4.0, 1994, Kingfisher blue.

The XJ6 3.2, 1992, Regency red from Leo and Anne-Marie (Denmark)

Rory's Daimler 4.0 from 1992, Regency red with magnolia upholstery and red piping (I have exact the same car by the way!)

The well-known colour combination of flamenco red paint and magnolia upholstery from the 3.2S in 1993. This is the car of Jack and Graham …

and this is Carl's 3.2S from 1994. Spot the differences!

Another 3.2S but now in the unusual morocco red paint. The magnolia upholstery is familiar. This is the car Ant took with him.

Simon's black XJ6.

Pim and Cassandra's Sovereign 3.2 in Brooklands green with a parchment upholstery, late 1992.

Chris C.'s Sovereign 4.0 from 1993 with Sport pack, Silver frost paint.

Peter came from Belgium with his morocco red Sovereign 3.2 from 1992, warm charcoal interior. Note the peculiar Insignia wheel trims (in the right colour) and the chrome trims.

Simon's Flamenco red XJ12 with a impeccable engine bay. Even the aluminium airconditioning pipes shine lachebekje

Kieran (and Jessica) talking with the proud owner of the Daimler Double Six, 1993. I collected it from Switzerland with only 70,000 km and a great cream autolux leather interior. The solent blue paint then already had parking scratches.

Simon, Naki and me studied the plumbing around the inlet manifolds. In the meantime, Naki succeeded in doing the embarrassing: he found a CORK under the left hand inlet manifold IN MY DAIMLER! Of course the proof was meticulously photographed.

Naki's XJR is rare in that it has a manual gear box. And the remarkable paint colour Cherry Black.

I tried to capture the non-blackness of this almost black red.

In the meantime, luckily not everything in the car is black: I like the carpets.

Naki's XJR and my Daimler Double Six.

Clive had his Daimler Double Six converted to LPG and he already drives this seven years without problems. Solent blue paint with a nice magnolia upholstery with isis blue piping.

Steve brought his 1990 XJR with him, the oldest car of the show! Solent blue with magnolia and blue piping.

And of course, Derek's Daimler 4 litre in solent blue and saville grey leather was the most beautiful car of the day.

I like Roulettes very much. They are only 15 inch and difficult to clean because of the … er … roulette design. This is the way they should look … embarrassing lachebekje
