Thirty years of Jaguar XJ40: the 37 XJ40s present in Dunkeld and their owners English text Nederlandse tekst

september 2016

Introduction

I as usual tried to compile a list of all XJ40s present in Dunkeld, and possibly their owners or attendees in Dunkeld. I started with a list in order of appearance in my photos. I used the registrations as key and tried to fill in the owner, XJ40 model, colour, year. As I looked to far too few cars and talked to far too few people, there remains much to fill in. However, with the full names on the dinner seating plan and the 'Ride & Drive running list' I think I can made it rather complete.

Pim at the same time compiled a list and we compared our lists. Finally, I asked Paul Keating to improve the list, as he managed to note the details of every car attending, also for his XJ40 database. Paul even added a 37th XJ40 that only attended an hour or so. Letitia Mace is also compiling a list like this for publication elsewhere and I shared my information. Thank you!

37 XJ40s!

Below follows the list of all Jaguar XJ40s present in Dunkeld. The list is ordered on build year. Country of origin is only listed if outside the United Kingdom.

The XJ40 statistics of the Dunkeld event:
All together there were 37 XJ40s. Not all were present on both days.
6 of them were V12's, 4 of which were Daimler Double Sixes.
4 of them were Insignias or Majestics: 1 Insignia, 1 Majestic and 2 Majestics Insignia.
3 of them were XJRs.
